Squid Game 2, there was actually a very simple way to stop the games from the beginning

It's not really a plot hole (or the series wouldn't have continued), but how is it possible that Gi-hun didn't at least think of it?

After three years of waiting, we returned to the Squid Game bunker. The second season gave fans another seven episodes, during which we saw Gi-hun return to the arena to try to stop the deadly games won at a high price, but things are not going well. In addition to the resistance of the organizers, in fact, the protagonist and his allies clashed with a large group of participants who continually voted to continue with the Game. Upon closer inspection, however, there was a way to end everything "quickly". WARNING: contains spoilers for Squid Game 2

Preface: this is not a real plot hole, because clearly simple solutions are never the best ones for the development of the story - as the case of the eagles in the Lord of the Rings teaches us. It seems strange, however, that this hypothesis was not at least taken into consideration by Gi-hun during the numerous votes that were held to stop or continue the Game.

As anyone who has already seen the whole of Squid Game 2 knows, all the votes ended with the victory of the circle team (therefore to continue), except for the last one which ended in a tie. However, the gap was always minimal: in the very first one, the decisive vote was that of player 001, who the public knew was actually the Frontman of Squid Game himself, infiltrated to see Gi-hun up close and put a spoke in his wheels. The others were also played on a razor's edge, but in the end too many people wanted to continue to try to win more money... and this is where things don't add up.

Why didn't Gi-hun, who left the first season with 45.6 billion won (equal to about 30 million euros), simply think of offering a large portion of the money himself in exchange for the end of the games? Ultimately, it would have been enough to change the minds of a few people and share the huge prize pool with them (and with the others to avoid second thoughts). You might be thinking that there was no way for Gi-hun to convince them that he really had that much money at his disposal, but we are still talking about a group of compulsive gamblers willing to risk their lives for the hope of money...

At the first vote, the prize pool divided among the survivors amounted to 24 million won, about 15,000 euros. We know that Gi-hun still had most of the 45.6 billion, because he showed them to us at the beginning of the season. So why not try to play this card? With the promise of an additional prize in addition to the one they would have already received by exiting the game at that moment, would there really not have been two people tempted to change their minds? It is clearly not expected that this was the idea brought forward by Netflix and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, but it seems bizarre that in such a methodical story about numbers and figures this solution was not proposed already in the early stages…
