Between epic fights and heroic sacrifices, there is one episode in particular of My Hero Academia that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of fans, making us reflect on themes such as courage, friendship, and the price to pay for being a true hero - as well as reducing us completely to tears. In a world where heroes and villains coexist, each individual has personal motivations that guide their life choices: although many act with good intentions, these decisions are often influenced by traumatic events from the past. Some are born with extremely destructive "quirks", others instead have to face life without any special power. Each person's perspective on life can transform these conditions into extraordinarily difficult experiences, marked by pain and challenges.
My Hero Academia stands out for its balance between moments of joy and heartbreaking scenes that touch the hearts of viewers. Despite the series' generally optimistic tone, some episodes leave the audience in tears: with the arrival of the seventh season, the narrative reaches new emotional levels and some twists that have deeply affected fans. Among these, the death of Katsuki Bakugo has shocked anime fans like few other events in the series. A beloved character, Bakugo had already risked his life in the past to save Midoriya, but no one expected him to meet such a tragic fate. When he decides to sacrifice himself to protect Deku from Shigaraki's attack, he once again demonstrates his deep dedication but, in this case, his determination costs him his life.
In his final moments of life, Bakugo's thoughts return to his eternal rival, Deku. He wonders if he will ever be able to match him, a doubt that reflects the complexity of their relationship. Behind his aggressive and prickly nature, Katsuki hides a sincere and deep bond with Izuku, who has always pushed him to improve himself: despite the rivalry, Bakugo feels genuine respect and affection for his childhood friend. His sacrifice is even more touching considering his bond with All Might, the hero he has always worshipped. Since he was a child, his goal has been to become the greatest hero in the world, a dream fueled by his admiration for All Might. In a particularly touching moment, Bakugo reveals that he has never been able to ask for his autograph due to embarrassment, a detail that makes his humanity even more evident.
The scene of his death is shocking, to say the least: Tomura Shigaraki hits him directly in the heart, leaving those present and spectators speechless. Best Jeanist confirms the worst, announcing that Bakugo's heart has stopped beating, in a disconcerting moment that marks the character's fate forever. Katsuki Bakugo's death is not only a tragic event, but also represents the culmination of his journey: throughout the series, his desire to eliminate evil and protect his friends has defined his every action. In this sense, his sacrifice embodies the values of a true hero, willing to give everything to save those he loves. It is an event that not only touches the hearts of fans but also underlines the dramatic essence of My Hero Academia, an anime capable of exploring the emotional depths of its characters and making us reflect on the meaning of courage and sacrifice.
