"It would be great if Krysten Ritter returned to the role of Jessica Jones." This was not just a Marvel fan who said this. It was Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum, who oversees the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). "Marvel's Jessica Jones" (2015-2019), in which Ritter starred, is one of the works in "The Defenders Saga," which was released on Netflix and includes "Marvel's Daredevil" (2015-2018). Many cast members from the previous series will return to the new drama "Daredevil: Born Again," which will be revived in the MCU, so there is hope for the reappearance of Jessica Jones, who shares the same worldview.

Winderbaum, who oversees the television division of Marvel Studios, is also one of those who want Jessica Jones to return. At the November 2024 event "D23 Expo," when asked which character from "The Defenders Saga" he would like to see in a new season, he answered "Jessica Jones." In an interview with ComicBook.com, Ritter was delighted to hear this comment, saying, "I'm really happy. Let's do it, let's make it exciting." ComicBook.com also conveyed Ritter's reaction to Winderbaum himself. He cautiously responded, "I love Jessica Jones. I think it's one of the highlights of my time at Netflix."

He spoke positively, saying, "No one can embody that character as well as she (Ritter). It would be great to see her come back and see her on-screen again." Although he avoided making a clear statement about Jessica Jones' reappearance, it is clear that Winderbaum is eager to join the MCU. The Defenders Saga is officially recognized as the official history of the MCU, and Ritter was enthusiastic about joining the MCU, saying, "I'm ready. I'll fly right in." Since both parties want Jessica Jones to return, there is a good chance that it will happen.

Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, and Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, have already joined the MCU from The Defenders Saga. In Daredevil: Born Again, Jon Bernthal, who plays the Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page, Elden Henson, who plays Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye, will also be returning. On the other hand, it is unclear whether Jessica, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and other members of the Defenders will reappear. Will their fate be revealed after the release of Daredevil: Born Again? "Marvel's Jessica Jones" is currently streaming on Disney+. "Daredevil: Born Again" is scheduled to be released in the US on March 4, 2025.
