Fans of The Last of Us are buzzing after identifying a possible new cast member for the second season of the HBO series.
It all started from the analysis of a recent trailer, in which a man appears imprisoned and tortured by Isaac Dixon, the ruthless leader of the Washington Liberation Front. The most attentive viewers have noticed similarities between this individual and the actor Ryan Masson, a hypothesis that would also be supported by information present on IMDb and posts on the actor's social networks. But there's more: according to the fanbase of the famous video game, the character, who answers to the name of Malcolm, could be a Seraphite, a follower of a religious sect already introduced in The Last of Us Part II, who venerates a prophetic figure and believes that the infection is a divine punishment.
The season one finale left viewers with many unanswered questions and undoubtedly set the stage for what will prove to be crucial twists: remember that Joel saved Ellie from Firefly Hospital, sacrificing the possibility of a cure for humanity, and lied to the girl about what happened. If and when his companion in adventures finds out, strong conflicts will undoubtedly arise. To date, we know that the new episodes will closely follow the plot of the video game The Last of Us Part II, introducing key characters such as Abby Anderson, played by Kaitlyn Dever. The daughter of the surgeon killed by Joel, the girl will be at the center of a story of revenge and pain that will profoundly influence the events of the season.
In addition to the talented actress, other new faces will enrich the cast. Jeffrey Wright will play Isaac, the charismatic but cruel leader of the rebels, while Catherine O'Hara will give life to a character still shrouded in mystery. The return of Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), and Gabriel Luna (Tommy) has been confirmed since the renewal and will ensure continuity with the previous season. Then there is Isabela Merced who will play Dina, Ellie's love interest. The Last of Us season 2 is expected in spring 2025. Are you waiting for it? Let us know in the comments!
