The Dragon Ball franchise over the years has continually redefined the hierarchies between the characters who, for more or less long periods, have been able to boast the title of "most powerful being in the universe". However, the latest entry in the now vast roster of the saga seems to be equipped with powers far superior to any character seen so far in the various animated series of Goku and his friends, including divine beings like Beerus and Grand Zeno.

In the tenth episode of Dragon Ball Daim, we see the Supreme Kai tell the origins of the multiverse in which the events of the franchise take place, without sparing some surprising revelations. According to the Supreme Kai, the Demon Realm existed long before the multiverse, and the multiverse was only created when an incredibly powerful Majin, Rymus, was called upon to create other worlds. During the early days of the multiverse, travel between the Demon Realm and the various universes occurred freely, allowing races such as the Glindians, to which the Supreme Kai belongs, and the Namekians to travel to other universes.

In short, according to the new episode of Daima, Rymus seems to be by far the most powerful character in the entire Dragon Ball multiverse. Not much else is revealed about him, however we learn that he is a figure with the unimaginable ability to create entire universes from nothing. It is unclear what happened to Rymus, but from the words spoken by the Supreme Kai, we can deduce that Rymus is still a tangible presence who seems to act as the highest authority between the universes.

At first glance, it might seem that the introduction of Rymus in Dragon Ball Daima could represent a continuity problem with Super, but in reality, this possibility does not seem to exist. Grand Zeno, seen in Dragon Ball Super, was considered as the god above all others. It is possible, however, that Zeno was appointed to govern the multiverse in a very similar way to how the Kai was chosen to watch over the individual universes. Another possibility is that Zeno could be Rymus' successor, or that Zeno could have been the god of the Demon Kingdom before the creation of the other universes.

In short, there are still many questions and the hope is that in the course of the next episodes of Dragon Ball Daima, more details about Rymus and the origins of the multiverse can be revealed, also clarifying the true role of Zeno.

We remind you that Dragon Ball Daima is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
