Berlin: ER follows the events of the emergency room of the most complicated and overcrowded hospital in the German capital. Apple TV+ has announced the release date of Berlin: Red Code (formerly KRANK Berlin), the new German-language hospital drama co-created by former ER doctor-turned-screenwriter Samuel Jefferson and Viktor Jakovleski. Starring Haley Louise Jones (My Favorite, Paradise) and Slavko Popadić (Crooks), the show will debut on February 26 with the first two episodes of a total of eight, followed by a weekly episode through April 9. Running a chaotic emergency room in Berlin's most complicated and overcrowded hospital is no small task for young doctor Parker (Haley Louise Jones), who is looking for a fresh start in the big city after her personal life in Munich implodes. As she tries to implement necessary reforms, Parker is met with resistance from the hospital's underpaid, ill-equipped, and constantly exhausted staff, who survive only thanks to a much-needed dose of black humor. Yet, faced with an increasingly ruthless healthcare system, this battered team must put aside their differences and join forces to save lives.
Berlin: Red Code also stars Åžafak Åžengül (The Mother Goes to G. W. Bush), Aram Tafreshian (Dogs of Berlin), Samirah Breuer (Griffin), Bernhard Schütz (Barbarians), Peter Lohmeyer (I Don’t Work Here) and Benjamin Radjaipour (Girlfriend for Hire). The series is produced by Violet Pictures and Real Film Berlin for ZDFneo and Apple TV+, with Violet Pictures’ Alexis von Wittgenstein (Oktoberfest) and Real Film’s Emmy nominee Henning Kamm (Unorthodox) serving as executive producers. “Berlin: Red Code” is directed by Alex Schaad (Skin Deep) and Fabian Möhrke (Eichwald MdB). International rights are handled by Beta Film.
