One of the most beloved and ambiguous characters of the show seems to be really destined to be part of the next League of Legends TV shows. With the conclusion of the second season of Arcane and therefore of the narrative arc of the series, fans have already started to wonder what the next TV shows set in the world of League of Legends already confirmed by the showrunners will focus on. If the hypotheses on the identity of the possible new protagonists are already raining down on the net, it seems that at least one of the characters of Arcane is in the process of returning in the next serial projects by Riot Games.
In an interview released in the last few hours, the star of the series Harry Lloyd said he was very open to the possibility of a return of the character of Viktor in a new show, with his tragic departure that may not have been definitive. Asked about this eventuality, Lloyd in fact underlined how it is the very nature of Arcane that makes such an eventuality possible: «That's a big question. Yes, definitely. Frankly, I’d love to see what they can do. From what I know about this show, anything is possible. I like when they follow the rules, and I like when they bend them and sometimes break them a little bit, and I think that’s very much in line with the character’s journey. So we’ll see. In terms of unexplored opportunities within Runeterra as a whole, we’ll see what happens.”
Viktor, an ambitious and brilliant inventor, has quickly established himself as a fan-favorite character thanks to his complexity and ambiguity and has enjoyed one of the show’s best arcs. The third act of Arcane’s second season also explored the concept of parallel universes, while also bringing concepts like time inversion into play.
With three new series currently in development, at least one of them could likely bring Viktor back, using time manipulation, alternate realities, or even flashbacks. After all, he is a character with multiple layers of complexity that has played a fundamental role in making Arcane one of the most popular shows of recent years. A factor that already leaves wide open the possibility of seeing him again on the small screen in a new show set in Runeterra.
