In this regard, Deadline published its estimates relating to the classic Thursday previews, and the result is close to around 8 million dollars (the source admits that the figure could be slightly different as the next few hours pass). If this figure were confirmed, market analysts would point to a debut weekend of around 65 million. The first film (released in 2018) opened with a weekend of 80 million dollars, while the second film “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” (in 2021) even with 90 million, data that brings “The Last Dance” to place itself directly behind its two predecessors, and by a lot.
That said, if word of mouth is good, the provisional data could easily be overturned in the next few days. The response from critics at the moment has not been very positive (Rotten Tomatoes only scores 36%), contrary to the first comments published online a few days ago (here is our article). The two predecessors reported, in this regard, have reported rather discordant results, with “Venom” at 30% and “Carnage” at 57%. However, both films obtained an excellent “B+” at the CinemaScore. It will be interesting to evaluate the response from the public starting tomorrow.
Venom: The Last Dance and the production notes
The film was directed by Kelly Marcel, co-writer of the first two chapters. The cast, in addition to the reconfirmation of Tom Hardy in the role of Eddie Brock/Venom, will see the presence of Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Stephen Graham, the actor who played Detective Patrick Mulligan in “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, has confirmed his return. Venom 3 will be available in Italy from October 24, 2024.
Official plot: In the film, Tom Hardy returns to play Venom, one of Marvel’s most famous and complex characters. In the final film of the trilogy, Eddie and Venom are on the run. As the net tightens around them, the two protagonists are forced to make a shocking decision that will bring down the curtain on their “last dance”.
