The Sticky: the trailer of the dark comedy Prime Video inspired by a true story

A new comedy series is coming to Prime Video: it is called The Sticky and stars Margo Martindale and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Prime Video has released the official trailer of The Sticky, a fast-paced dark comedy inspired by a real theft that happened in 2012 that made international headlines with maple syrup stolen from Quebec's national reserves for a value of over 18 million dollars. The Sticky – The Great Theft combines funny moments that play on the culture clash, tension, and touching moments. The series is scheduled to debut on the platform on December 6.

From showrunners Ed Herro and Brian Donovan, the series follows Ruth Landry (three-time Emmy winner Margo Martindale), a tenacious middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the authorities threaten to take away everything she loves. She teams up with a short-tempered Boston mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos) and a kindly French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr) to pull off a multimillion-dollar heist of Quebec’s maple syrup reserves. Academy Award and Emmy winner Jamie Lee Curtis also guest stars in the series and serves as an executive producer.

The Sticky was produced by Blumhouse Television, Jamie Lee Curtis’s Comet Pictures, Jonathan Levine’s Megamix, and Sphere Media. The creators, executive producers, showrunners, and writers are Brian Donovan and Ed Herro. Other executive producers for Megamix are Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer, Jamie Lee Curtis for Comet Pictures, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold and Chris Dickie for Blumhouse Television.
