Prime Target: the release date and the first images of the Apple TV+ thriller series

A new thriller series is coming to Apple TV+: the release date and the first images of Prime Target, starring Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell.

Apple TV+ has released the first official images and revealed the release date of Prime Target, the new thriller starring SAG Award winner Leo Woodall (The White Lotus, One Day) and Quintessa Swindell (Black Adam, In Treatment). Created by award-winning writer Steve Thompson (Sherlock, Vienna Blood), who also serves as an executive producer, the new fiction is produced for Apple TV+ by New Regency with Ridley Scott's Scott Free. The series will debut on Apple TV+ on January 22, 2025, with the first two episodes of the eight total, followed by a weekly episode every Wednesday, until March 5.


The plot and the first official images of Prime Target

Prime Target follows Edward Brooks (Leo Woodall), a brilliant young math graduate on the verge of making a great discovery. If he can find a pattern of prime numbers, he will have the key to all the computers in the world. He soon begins to realize that an invisible enemy is trying to sabotage his idea before it even comes to life, so he enters the orbit of Taylah Sanders (Quintessa Swindell), an NSA agent who has been assigned to observe and report on the behavior of mathematicians. Together they begin to piece the dangerous conspiracy in which Edward is at the center.

The cast of Prime Target also includes Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Stephen Rea (The Crying Game), BAFTA nominee David Morrissey (Sherwood, The Walking Dead), Emmy winner Martha Plimpton (The Regime), BAFTA and Emmy winner Sidse Babette Knudsen (Borgen), SAG Award nominee Jason Flemyng (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), BAFTA Award nominee Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones), Ali Suliman (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Paradise Now), Fra Fee (Rebel Moon, Hawkeye) and Joseph Mydell (The Eternal Daughter). The series is produced for Apple TV+ by New Regency with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, with Ed Rubin serving as executive producer for New Regency alongside Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan, and Michael Schaefer; Marina Brackenbury serves as executive producer for Scott Free Productions alongside David W. Zucker and Scott. Laura Hastings-Smith serves as executive producer alongside writer/director Brady Hood (Top Boy, Great Expectations), who also directed all eight episodes.
