The official trailer for Maria, the long-awaited biopic on the famous and beloved opera singer Maria Callas directed by Chilean director Pablo LarraÃn (Jackie, Spencer) and starring Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie. Written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and presented as a world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, the film will be released in Italian theaters on January 1, 2025.

Adaptation of the novel Tu t’appelais Maria Schneider by Vanessa Schneider and published in 2018, the film tells the tumultuous, tragic, and beautiful story of the life of the greatest opera singer in the world, revisited and reinterpreted during her last days in Paris in the Seventies.
Presented at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Première section, Maria also features Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer (Winter Sleep), Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Power of the Dog, Elvis), Stephen Ashfield and Valeria Golino. The film was produced by Lorenzo Mieli for The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle company, Juan de Dios LarraÃn for Fabula Pictures, and Jonas Dornbach for Komplizen Film. Miki Emmrich and Helmet Hutter served as executive producers.
