"Reacher" and "Predator: The Prey" stars co-star

Alan Ritchson from the popular drama "Reacher" (2022-) and Amber Midthunder from "Prey" (2022) will co-star in the new action movie "Painter" written by Derek Kolstad of the "John Wick" series. Deadline reports. "Painter," the first in the new action series, tells the story of a young woman who has been trained since childhood and uses all her skills to rescue her kidnapped father. Derek Kolstad, known for action films such as the John Wick series and Mr. Nobody (2021), will be in charge of the script, and Garrett Warren, who served as stunt coordinator for Logan (2017), Avatar (2009), and Roadhouse (2024), will participate as director. Ritchson is also listed as a producer.
In response to this announcement, Drew Simon, president of Infrared, a US FilmNation Entertainment production label, commented, "The Painter will be a groundbreaking action hero film, and (Amber) Midthunder will be a modern-day Sarah Connor." "We loved Kolstad's high-tension script, and with Garrett Warren directing, we are confident that this film will start a new series in the action world." Midthunder is known for starring in the sci-fi action film Predator: The Prey, where he also showed off his amazing action in the film.
He has also appeared in the X-Men drama Legion (2017-2019), the A24 and Ari Aster film Dream Scenario (2023), and the Netflix live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024). Upcoming appearances include Novocaine (2025), also produced by Infrared. Ritchson is known for starring in Reacher and appearing in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Fast & Furious 4 (2023), and the DC drama Titans. He is currently filming Netflix's new sci-fi action film War Machine and has several action films coming up, including Runner and the 11th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.
