The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page recently shared the profound transformation he experienced after announcing his gender transition in 2020. The actor described the moment as an explosion of energy and creativity, which has had a significant impact on his personal and professional life.

In an interview with Them, Page spoke about the feeling of vitality and inspiration that followed his coming out. “I felt a surge of energy, creativity, inspiration, and real joy,” he said, noting how living authentically has allowed him to fully express himself. This renewed passion also led to the founding of her own production company, Pageboy, which focuses on developing projects that explore queer stories without gender constraints.
The Umbrella Academy star came out in 2014, but it wasn’t until nearly seven years later that she announced her transgender identity in an Instagram post that garnered over three million likes. Reflecting on her journey, Page has spoken openly about the challenges she faced before transitioning. She described her gender dysphoria as a constant source of discomfort, a feeling that was “writhing in my mind and body.” Before coming out, she often talked herself out of these feelings, thinking there would always be “that next part to play.”
Speaking about her experience, Page acknowledged how significant coming out was: “It was a big, important step. I would never have had the freedom and space to be where I really needed to be.” Now, living openly, the Umbrella Academy star feels free and empowered. He emphasized that this freedom doesn’t necessarily mean always making the right choices, but it allows him to move through the world with greater presence and awareness. “I know that I’m not driven to do something else for someone else’s reasons,” he said, highlighting the importance of living by one’s values.
