The cast of Spider-Noir, the Spider-Man Noir series starring Nicolas Cage, who will reprise the role he played in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, has added another name. According to Deadline, Abraham Popoola (Atlas) will play a World War I veteran looking for an opportunity to do well in life. Brendan Gleeson will play the villain in the series, which also features Li Jun Li, and Lamorne Morris, who will play a character seen in the Sam Raimi films. Find out more.

Noir will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios and released on MGM+ in the United States, before arriving on Prime Video globally. No premiere date has been revealed yet. The series will tell the story of a private investigator, played by Cage, who is already aging and feeling down on his luck. He is then forced to deal with his old life as the city's only superhero. The series will be set in 1930s New York.

The live-action Spider-Man Noir series was first announced in early 2023, but the casting was announced just now. Nicolas Cage's announcement was revealed by Amazon to advertisers, surprising everyone since it's the first time he's done a series since filming a pilot episode early in his career. Phill Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal will serve as executive producers on Noir, while Oren Uziel (The Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) are executive producers and showrunners.

Spider-Man Noir first appeared in Marvel comics in 2009, created by David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky. The character quickly became a fan favorite and has appeared in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, voiced by Milo Ventimiglia. In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Nicolas Cage appeared as the voice of the tortured alternate version of Peter Parker from a monochrome universe. This will not be the same character seen in the series.
