During San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), Harrison Ford spoke to Variety about the experience of playing President Ross and, of course, Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. The actor responded in the way we already know and called himself an "idiot for money". Ford was asked about what he had to do for the motion capture process necessary to transform him into Red Hulk. "What did it take? It took not caring. It took being an idiot for money, which I've done before," said the actor. "I don't want to belittle it. I'm just saying you have to do certain things that normally your mother wouldn't want you to do — or your acting coach if you had one."

However, Harrison Ford admitted that he had fun in the process and was happy with the reactions to the trailer. "But it's fun, and I enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun, and I'm delighted with the response we got to the trailer,” he concluded. Captain America: Brave New World will be the first film with the character Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) holding the title of the hero, but he doesn't have the super soldier serum, which gave Steve Rogers his unusual strength, for example.

Sam became Captain America in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, he will star in the next film in the hero franchise, taking on the legacy left by Chris Evans' Steve Rogers, who handed him the shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Malcolm Spellman, who directed the series, was the original screenwriter for the feature film, with Dalan Musson, also from the series, and Matthew Orton (Moon Knight) rewriting the script. The director is Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox).

Harrison Ford will star in the film as General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, now President of the United States, replacing William Hurt, who died in 2022. Completing the cast are Tim Blake Nelson, Liv Tyler, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, and Shira Haas. During reshoots, Giancarlo Esposito (The Boys, Breaking Bad) was added as one of the film's villains. Captain America: Brave New World went through a lot of behind-the-scenes difficulties. After wrapping up the original recordings, which lasted around three months, the film underwent some restructuring and an extensive period of new reshoots took place between May and June 2024, after Orton joined the production and rewrote the script.

Already delayed several times, Captain America: Brave New World premieres on February 13, 2025. The film will also set the stage for Thunderbolts, which premieres three months later and will see Ford return as General Ross. The film continues the story of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which premiered in 2021 and follows Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) as they learn to live in a world that needs to fill the void left by the original Captain America (Chris Evans). The series brings back the villain Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) and Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), in addition to introducing John Walker (Wyatt Russell), aka U.S. Agent, to the MCU. The series is available on Disney+.
