The animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, originally developed for HBO Max but now on its way to Prime Video, has a new, beautiful poster.

Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass) will play the hero, Christina Ricci, as Catwoman, Jamie Chung, with Harley Quinn and Diedrich Bader, as Two-Face. In addition to them, McKenna Grace, David Krumholtz, Haley Joel Osment and Minnie Driver also complete the team of voice actors. There is a lot of talent involved in the production, including Bruce Timm, co-creator of Batman: The Animated Series, considered by many to be the best adaptation of the hero, Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, and producer J.J. Abrams.

Batman: Caped Crusader promises to reimagine the mythology of Gotham City. Its art direction draws from the hero's first appearances in DC Comics comics, in the 1930s. Inspired by film noir, the story takes place in the 1940s, and brings some changes, including an Asian-American Harley Quinn. “James [Tucker, character artist] and I are big fans of movies from that era, so we decided to really focus on that in terms of the clothes, the cars, the architecture and the level of technology,” Timm said. “From the beginning we decided that there would be no computers or cell phones. This changed everything.”

Meanwhile, Matt Reeves prepares The Batman: Part II

The Batman: Part II will be part of the Elsewords label, used for DC productions that are not part of the main universe managed by James Gunn, where the features will have the DCU label. The Batman film produced by Gunn will be The Brave and the Bold, a Bruce Wayne story with his son, Damian Wayne, as Robin. In addition to the continuation of The Batman, the Gotham City universe created by Matt Reeves will be expanded with series focused on Colin Ferrell's Penguin and Arkham Asylum, where the Riddler is imprisoned at the end. To top it off, the director is also exploring the idea of making films about other villains of the hero. The Batman: Part II debuts in October 2026.
